The fourth
chapter of the agreement of establishing the Islamic Committee
of the International Crescent points out its composition as
follows :-
1.The ICIC
shall be composed of ten members as follows :-
- Eight members
from the signatory states or party to the agreement elected by
the. Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers on the basis of
candidatures proposed by member states of the Organization of
the Islamic Conference.
- One permanent
member appointed by the host country.
- One permanent
member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference appointed
by the secretary general (Article 8).
2.The ICIC
shall elect from among its members a president and a vice
president for a two-year term of office (Article 9).
3.The
ICIC's mandate shall cover a period of four years. At the
conclusion of the first term, membership of half of the
non-permanent members shall come to an end by balloting. The
membership of the four other members shall also expire after a
period of two years. The conference shall elect new members to
replace those whose term of office has expired.
4.ICIC
presidents and vice presidents:-
-Dr. Ahmad
Abdallah AlShereef (Libya) was elected president for the ICIC in
the first Meeting held in Benghazi in 1983A.D.
· Mr.
Suhand Igas (Indonesia) was elected ICIC vice president in the
first Meeting held in Benghazi in 1983 A.D.
· Mr. unal
Sumunjo (Turkey) was elected ICIC vice president in the year
1990 A.D.
· Mr.
Turker Sanal (Turkey) was elected ICIC vice president in 1996
A.D.
· Mr. Ali
Mahmoud Buhedma (Libya) was elected ICIC president for the
Committee in 1996 A.D.
· Mr.
Hassan Shushatri Zadeh (Iran) was elected ICIC vice president in
2006.
· Mr. Omer
Tasli (Turkey) was elected ICIC vice president in 2008.
